Third mobility Erasmus+ Rescue Europe from December the 12th to December the 16th
Last December from the 12th to the 16th, all the partners reunited again to discover the amazing city of Viena by the hand of the Austrian team, who prepared a very complete agenda to get to know eachother, our cultures and how to admire and preserve nature.
Nearly 80 students and about 30 teachers from Germany, Italy, The UK, Slovakia, Lithuania and Spain had the opportunity of visiting different places related to the project, could make some workshops, and finally being “eco-artists” making an “Eco sculpture”.
Having the opportunity of visiting Austria so closed to Christmas has been an amazing experience for all the partners, as we all could enjoy Christmas lights and markets. But let’s start having a view of what all this week has been and how we all have enjoyed it.
Some partners packed their luggage and got to the airport to fly to the Viennese airport, and others packed their luggage to arrive driving to Vienna. Never mind the means of transport used, because all our excitement and illusion to start the week were common for all of us.
After arriving to the hotel, we were very excited and decided to explore the surroundings trying to find a place to savour the Viennese gastronomy. Some of us were very lucky to find a traditional restaurant that offered delicious food to taste. We were veeeery happy and veeeeery hungry.
We could also find some street food trucks to taste the typical traditional sausage, and that’s what the German and British teams were looking for. Finally….they got it!
On Monday, we went to Hans Radl School where we had a Week Opening ceremony and we could have the opportunity of singing altogether the school hymn. Although we didn’t know German, we did our best.
Even Marc, an old student at Hans Radl that participated in the Comenius previous project, came to visit us and help the school. Erasmus+ spirit 100%
After the ceremony, different teachers showed us the school and its garden. It was a very interesting morning.
After all this walk, we were ready to have lunch at school.
After a perfectly well served lunch, we all visited a great Natural Park called National Park Haus Wien Lobau and then the Old Town.
And after all these beautiful sights, we went downtown to enjoy Christmas lights and spent some money buying a couple of souvenirs or having a glühwein at the markets.
Cultural day! One of the most amazing days of the week. Having the opportunity of visiting the Gugging Museum and realising how amazing pictures we were going to find, made us enjoy in the most creative way. Making some crafts in the morning and visiting the museum in the afternoon made us feel artist for one day!
Then, after knowing much more about art, we started with some workshops to show our own art.
After the cultural morning and afternoon we could enjoy a free evening to explore the city (Visiting the Belvedere Museum or walking around, were some of the activities chosen)
We met at nine at Hans Radl Shule to start with the workshops prepared. In the afternoon, coordinators combined them with the meeting.
After working so hard we went to have a very “long” dinner at CENTIMETER. We could have the opportunity to talk about the nice days that we were spending in Viena and everything we were learning.
We met very early in the morning to start a trip to Lower Austria and visit the famous Sonnentor. There we could visit the factory to know how they make all their ecological products and have an eco-lunch at its modern restaurant to enjoy biological food. Students discovered how to create a huge enterprise from a discreet beginning.
And after the walk,a nice dinner at Sonnetor organic restaurant to enjoy the delicious dishes.
The day didn’t finish here. We started our way to the Wine cellar museum. Our journey started in a huge lift that brought us to a very colourful fountain. After it, we could see the old wine cellar, smell wine components and have a nice walk all around.
We tried to guess the different kinds of smell in wines.
Our last day started. We all wanted to stay because we had such a good experience and the city was so amazing that saying goodbye was going to be difficult, but the closing ceremony started and made all our feelings grow again.
After all these emotions we went to have our last lunch together. Fancy a schnitzel?
Farewells are always hard but this time is not a goodbye. We will sure meet again.
After all these feelings we went back to the hotel to pack our luggage. Some left and other had the chance of walking around the city, as were leaving on Saturday.
Thanks to the Austrian team for all the effort. It has been an amazing week.
See you in Germany next March!
